the editing process was everything for these songs. In both cases, one long, single-channel rough improvisation was cut down to it's best parts, and these parts were aligned and cross-faded to form a progression, without doing any mixing of the individual layers (my software was yet to be able to do multi-track recording). after the fact, I found two acoustic recordings on my field recorder that seemed in both cases to sort of magically line up with each edited improv, so those are at the beginning of each. there's quite a bit of symmetry between these two songs.
